Hummingbirds can be found in an array of colors and have been somewhat of an enigma for people all over the world for thousands of years. These tiny birds are able to fly forward, backwards, and also hover, almost like a helicopter. They were thought to be Native to the Americas, but that may not be true according to new scientific information.

The oral traditions and narrative forms of many indigenous cultures have endeavored to explain the local origins and behavioral characteristics of these special birds.
